Hope is an amalgamation of the local regions of Kawkawa Lake, Silver Creek/Flood and Lake of the Woods.

The District of Hope's local municipal elections are held every three years. District of Hope Council consists of a mayor and six Councilors.

The District of Hope staff consists of 35 employees. Administration offices are in Hope at 325 Wallace Street.
