Fibre Optic Internet

Hope is a pilot community for Telus high speed fibre optic internet service.  According to their website, “Telus is building a new network made from flexible, transparent fibres of glass that are slightly thicker than a strand of hair.  These fibres transmit data as pulses of light, which allows large amounts of information to be sent to your home or business at close to the speed of light.”

Regulations and Licensing for Entrepreneurs and Virtual Commuters

Form and Character Development Permits are not required for high-tech industry related developments as this is a community identified targeted sector.  All other development requirements for commercial property applies.

Even if your business is home-based, there are still requirements to operate.  Considerations include zoning, acquiring a District of Hope (of Mobile) business license, and income tax reporting to Canada Revenue Agency.
