Coverage & Story Suggestions

Outdoors: A playground for recreation enthusiasts consisting of more than 100 trails. Ski, snowshoe, mountain bike, river raft or hike our majestic mountains. Depending on the time of year – Hope is a year-round destination for something to do in all seasons.  Escape in the backcountry of the Cascade Mountains or take the groomed snowshoe trails in Manning Park or climb up one of the many summits such as Yap Peak or Box Canyon.

History: The history is very much alive in Hope. Retrace footsteps thousands of years or engulf yourself in the array of films that have been created in this area. Visit the local museum, art galleries, the Cariboo Road, Fort Hope Cairn, Othello Tunnels, Alexandria Bridge or the First Nation petroglyphs hidden in the canyon walls of the Fraser and Coquihalla Rivers. There are also plenty of art studios, museums and Indigenous galleries to visit in the region. It is an opportunity to view west coast paintings, carvings and sculptures.

Parks: There are several provincial parks near Hope, BC. All are scenic and easily accessible bound to create some awe-inspiring content. Some include Coquihalla Canyon, E.C. Manning, Silver Lake and Skagit Valley. Closer to town discover Hope’s Memorial Park on Wallace Street or Kawkawa Lake just off of Kawkawa Lake Road. Pack a lunch and plan a visit to one of the day-use areas in any of the parks in the region or explore a trail leading to a viewpoint or mountain peak.

Attractions: With copious amounts of options and interesting things to do while you’re in the area you’re bound to stumble upon a story. Hop in the car and visit one of the local attractions in the region like Hell’s Gate, Hope Slide, Alexandra Bridge, the H Tree or the local museum.
