Getting To Hope Cascades & Canyons
Hope is located within a 90 minute drive on Highway 1, 153km/716.4m east of Vancouver and a three hour drive from Seattle, Hope is a gateway destination to the heart of British Columbia, a featured stop along several interesting driving routes and a beautiful place to settle down!
At the edge of the Fraser Valley it is a hub of highways that travel in all directions: To the west, across the Fraser Valley flatlands lies Vancouver via Hwys 1 & 7; to the north, Hwy 1 continues up the Fraser Canyon to the Interior and Cariboo regions; to the east, Hwy 3 crosses the Coast Mountains to Princeton and east to the Kootenays and to the south, is the only access road to the Skagit Valley at the edge of the Cascade Mountains.

USA Border Crossing
The majority of cross border travelers choose to enter Canada via the Peace Arch crossing off I-5. However, the Sumas crossing at Abbotsford or Aldergrove/Lynden border crossing in Whatcom County are considerably closer to Hope and although smaller, usually less congested. Leave I-5 at the Meridian Exit 256 in Bellingham and travel approximately 32.2km/20m north to the Canadian border.

Hope Aerodrome, is located 2.6 nautical miles west of Hope Townsite within the municipal District of Hope, British Columbia, Canada. This airfield is home to the Vancouver Soaring Association, a gliding club owning and operating seven school and recreational sailplanes and two Cessna L-19 Bird Dog as tow planes.
