Board

of Directors

AdvantageHOPE is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, appointed by the District of Hope. Board Members represent a broad cross-section of community stakeholders to ensure that diverse community interests are represented.

Tannis Hendriks

Board Chair

We moved to Hope in December 2021 and love this town. Martin and I are opening a moto cafe here in summer of 2024. I volunteered on this board because I want to help this beautiful region to grow its tourism and business economy. I’m also part of the Downtown Revitalization Committee.

Gerry Wiebe

Vice Chair

With 35 years of executive leadership experience, I enjoy helping businesses accelerate growth and maximize operational efficiency through close collaboration with all stakeholders. I hope to contribute in a meaningful way to the growth of tourism and economic development in our region.

Tanya Seltenrich

Secretary/Treasurer

The beauty and lifestyle of this region is like no other, and the reason my family chose to live here. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to showcase Hope and the surrounding regions through my involvement in AdvantageHOPE. All of B.C. and beyond needs to know how amazing this area is.

Councillor Scott Medlock

District of Hope Liaison

I have lived in Hope for 21 years. Hope is the best place in the Fraser Valley to raise a family and do business. I was appointed to the board because of my role as Councillor for the District of Hope. I have been involved with AdvantageHOPE since its inception.

Dean Lin

Director

I have been living in Hope for four years and love it here. I have worked in logistics, international development, and now social services. I joined AdvantageHOPE because I am trying to make my town of Hope more vibrant. I would like to attract more business investment and newcomers.

Councillor Bonny Graham

District of Hope Liaison

Laura Reid

Director

We moved to Hope in January 2022. My background is in hotel management, tourism and small business ownership and I currently work for the Skawahlook First Nation running the Ruby Creek Art Gallery. I see a great opportunity for Hope to prosper as a tourist and day trip destination.

Martin Hendriks

Director

Hope has so much potential for growth, which is why Tannis and I chose this town for our new business venture. I joined this board and the Downtown Revitalization Committee and hope my business management skillset will contribute positively to economic and tourism initiatives.

Shayne Findlay

Director

For 10 years I have had the privilege of operating Blue Lake Resort near Boston Bar. I’ve fallen in love with the wild country surrounding Highway 1. Contributing the perspective of the businesses in the Fraser Canyon is my focus for this board.

Katina Vatcher

Director

I am new to Hope and I am the Finance Controller at Chawathil First Nation. I have previously resided in rural remote communities and I love the small-town atmosphere that Hope offers. I look forward to offering my knowledge in finance, human resources and administration to the board.

Nate Brown

Director

My wife and I moved to Hope 17 years ago to start a family. We fell in love with Hope’s natural beauty and small town feel. I believe in Hope’s potential and want to share this amazing place with the world.
